An Annotated History of the Greywind Tea Company

Two hundred years ago, the kingdom was at war, and the people were tired. The territorirs on the border were continuously in dispute, and the tailors, the blacksmiths, and the farmers have no recourse but to swing with the ever-changing winds. Harriet Greyson was no exception. A young mother, recently widowed by the constant conflict, she sought only two things:

A stable life for her family, and a warm pot of tea to keep her company.

When the border skirmishes finally cut off steady trade with nearby cities and resources started to dwindle, Harriet said that enough was enough. A woman of little means besides her wits, she gathered the people together in the name of support. Without any government backing them, who did they have it not each other?

Resources were gathered and organizations were built under her watchful eye, by both word and by force. Armies were denied quarters and supplies. Lordly manors burned– eventually earning Harriet the name Greywind as her prize. With the air thick with the ashes of the infernos she ignited with her well placed bottles and magic, there was no doubt that the air itself was gray because of her.

Some even whispered that she made a deal with a demon to attain this power…but we will leave that to scholars of a different sort.

Trade routes were reestablished under her directives, and she personally sought the establishment of the Greywind Tea Company to ensure that these trade routes would never be compromised again. The economy, once withered, started to blossom again as the villagers saw what they were capable of together, and they moved to protect other threatened border towns in the kingdom.

Harriet took care of the villagers, and they in turn took care of her. She eventually wed once more, to a half elf who had fought by her side from the very start, and her family grew and continued to be strong over the following years.

Generations have passed, and the legacy still carries strong. Greywind Tea Company delivers fine teas throughout the land, but they are nothing without the support of the people.
